Here are our obligatory before photos. I cringe as I look at them, how did we let ourselves get so unhealthy and large? But these photos are the fuel for my fire, I created a collage of these unflattering snapshots and put it on my computer desktop. As a daily reminder that I am making a change for good and nothing will stop me this time! Here’s to a healthy 2014!

Nutrisystem Week One: Day One
Writing this at the end of Nutrisystem Day 1. From here on out, I will be posting about our Nutrisystem journey once a week on Fridays. Jeff and I both started with the Fast 5 this morning. By afternoon, it became evident that the Fast 5 was going to be dangerously low calorie levels for Jeff (with the daily intake being roughly 1000 calories). Just yesterday, he probably ate nearly 5000. He was starting to get light-headed and was beginning to feel sick. I contacted a Nutrisystem counselor, and they confirmed that he should start with the Fast 5, even with over 100 pounds to lose.
Nutrisystem Ground Zero
Our food has arrived! I forgot to snap a few pictures before I opened the boxes, I will do that the next time it arrives so you can get an idea of the space you might need to house these big boxes of food.
Wakeup call: we are fat & it is time to make a change.
So it is no secret to friends and family that Jeff and I have let ourselves go. Life happens, convenience food slowly creeps into our kitchen pantry and basement freezer, and then eventually we’re eating out more than we’re eating in. I obviously knew I needed to make a change long before it started messing with our budget, but I really got a wakeup call when I realized that I was almost a year post baby #2 and I had not lost a pound of baby weight.
