I must admit, I have never taken my kids to a strawberry patch – not for lack of wanting to! As far as I know, there has never been one nearby. When my friend found one that was within driving distance, I was in.
We went over the weekend for a vintage market + strawberry patch and much to our disappointment they were picked out. The market did not disappoint, I didn’t get any pictures but we came home with some cute finds and new favorite vendors. After scheduling an appointment and making plans to attend the patch later in the week, we loaded up and carpooled back to the Tenth Street Orchard in Sterling, KS. It is the cutest little family farm, you must visit if you are in the area during strawberry picking season.
My kids were entertained for about 10 minutes but nevertheless we came home with a pile of yummy strawberries. I had dreams of strawberry pies but let’s be real – after I got them all cleaned up and trimmed I was just happy with throwing them in the freezer for smoothies and ice cream later on.
Yay for mid-week adventures and memories with friends!
